CeeLo Green suffered from a fall while riding a horse last week at an event in Atlanta, Georgia, and many fans immediately took to social media to call him out for animal abuse.

The rapper recently took to his official Instagram account to speak on the matter, saying he's "off the chain."

Further explaining his intentions why he rode a horse at the tribute party, the musician said he felt that it could be fun and funny to make a grand entrance riding the stallion.

The reason why he wanted to make such a grand entrance was because he was celebrating his friend Shawty Los's birthday and he was with his friends and family that knew his sense of humor.

CeeLo Green Riding a Horse Was Ethical

It appears his grand gesture was ethical as the former "The Voice" coach noted that they went through all the "proper channels" to make sure there was no bad intention towards the horse that he rode.

"it should've been short and sweet but some malfunctions happened and it is what it is but know that I'm ok and yes the horse is ok as well," he later clarified. (via Hip Hop DX)

He concluded the post by expressing his gratitude to his fans for their love and concern.

Despite issuing a statement, there are still users who disagreed with his decision, with one commenter writing, "Horses + flashing lights + loud sound = bad time. His owners should have known better."

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, popularly known as PETA, also took to the comment section, saying the organization is glad that both CeeLo Green and the horse were okay, but they wanted him to let "animals be animals" next time and leave them out of it.

CeeLo Green Falls Off a Horse

CeeLo attended Shawty Lo's tribute party last week, but an unexpected moment happened when he fell off the horse.

The musician made his grand entrance at The Bank in Atlanta, Georgia, by riding a horse while being assisted by two men wearing cowboy hats.

Page Six reported that the animal appeared to be stressed at one point, leading it to struggle its balance, making CeeLo Green fall to the ground.

The rapper was unbothered by the situation as he immediately stood up while laughing.
