Ariana DeBose will be doing that thing again as she was announced to be hosting the 76th Annual Tony Awards!

Hailed as Broadway's biggest night yet, it is DeBose's second time in a row being the master of ceremony of the show. She is following a short line of performers who hosts the show multiple times, including Hugh Jackman, Neil Patrick Harris, and most prominently, James Corden.

Ariana DeBose Tony Awards Host

In a statement, Ariana DeBose revealed the renewed gig she was offered, saying that she was "honored" to be the host last year and even more to be asked this year too.

"So looking forward to celebrating this incredible season and the people who make the work happen. Here's to adding some uptown flavor to the magic of the Tony Awards!" she said.

Despite crediting her roots back to Broadway as a featured ensemble on "Hamilton, and earning recognitions for "Summer: The Donna Summer Musical," DeBose has yet to win her Tony statue. However, she is already a shelf full of an Oscar Award, a SAG-AFTRA award, and even a BAFTA Award, all for the role she played as Anita in Steven Spielberg's "West Side Story."

Ariana DeBose' Angela Bassett Did The Thing'

For those who have been online in the past few months, especially during the first four months of the year, you would know that Ariana DeBose's name is everywhere.

Her name ruled headlines after she performed an empowering song number for the women nominees at the 76th BAFTA Awards. After name dropping all the leading and supporting nominees for the actress categories, Ariana DeBose trended on social media because of her "campy," "corny," and "cringy" lines and awkward responses from the crowd.

She went viral for it and faced an inordinate amount of criticism from netizens. After a short while, people came to her defense, saying that what she did was a pop culture moment that would be iconic in the years to come.

"Angela Bassett did the thing. Viola Davis, my 'Woman King.' Blanchett Cate, you're a genius. Jamie Lee [Curtis], you are all of us," the Oscar-winning performer rapped in the tune of Eurythmics' "Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves," and Sister Sledge's "We Are Family."

Ariana DeBose Becoming James Corden?

DeBose seemed to be following James Corden's suit in becoming a frequent host for the Tony Awards.

Most notably, Corden hosted the 70th Tony Awards and the 73rd one. Among other hosts of the show were Audra McDonald, Leslie Odom Jr., Kevin Spacey, Hugh Jackman, and Neil Patrick Harris, among many others.
