Madison Beer is about to release her first tell-all memoir titled "The Half Of It," and it reveals that she began having suicidal ideation and contemplation at the young age of 16.

Despite being just 24 years old, Beer explains that she felt the need to write a memoir to give others hope and help in navigating their young lives.

"I really wanted to write this book now because I thought sharing some of the ups and downs in my life might be able to help other people navigate and relate," the "Reckless" singer told People magazine.

She also explained that a major part of the book covers her experience with a cyberattack that happened when she was a teenager.

"I hope by sharing my honest journey that perhaps someone that wanted to hide behind a keyboard to be mean or poke fun at someone else's expense thinks twice before they hit 'send.'"

The book, published by Harper Books, is yet to be officially released, but the media has gotten their hands on an excerpt.

When It All Began

Prior to the release of the excerpt and the memoir, Beer appeared on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast and reflected on her life as a young artist grappling with heartache and trauma.

She detailed how she was around 13 or 14 when she began sending pictures and videos of herself to a guy that she liked.

"I just didn't think the person I was sending this stuff to would remotely ever think to do something like that because this was someone I'd known my whole life," she explained. "I was wrong."

"And I knew in my bones that the second it was texted to me, it would end up on the internet, unfortunately, and I knew I couldn't run from that fact."

'The Half Of It'

In the excerpt, Beer reflected on that specific incident, and how it had heavily affected her mental health.

"It was a lot of conflicting emotions for a newly sixteen-year-old girl to try to shoulder on her own. I felt like I was my own worst enemy," the excerpt read.

The "Dangerous" singer described those years as "the beginning of some of the darkest years of [her] life," which began when she was 16, but followed her into her early 20s.

On a "particularly heavy day," she wrote, Beer climbed over the edge of a balcony; she also added that she had "a million thoughts running through [her] head as [she] stared down at the ground, [her] eyes going in and out of focus."

Beer was found by her brother, who alerted their parents; she eventually climbed back to safety.

"The Half Of It" is slated for release on Apr. 25.
