"Wild" Mick Brown made a shocking revelation about his career years after he announced his hiatus.

Brown first stepped back from touring in 2019, marking the first time he decided to take a break since he started his professional career as a musician. However, his extended hiatus soon became his retirement, and he recently revealed that he also stopped playing two years ago.

Why "Wild" Mick Brown Left His Career Revealed

The former Dokken drummer spoke about his status for the first time in a new interview on the "Rimshots With Sean" podcast and shared what led him to make the decision.

According to Brown, he started feeling pain in his body from playing drums for decades, and he reportedly experienced it during his final show with Dokken.

"I was really getting tired, and it was really hard to walk through airports. ... And it didn't occur to me to stop [until] I just blurted out to Don [Dokken], 'I've gotta stop doing this," Brown said. "I can't do it anymore.' And he got it immediately, like, ''Wow - I'm surprised you even made it this far with what you did to yourself!'"

Apart from the effects of drumming, the musician cited traveling as another reason why he needed to step down for good. He explained how he realized that the last thing he wanted to do was to travel in any mode of transportation.

Brown also told the podcast how being a touring member was nothing like the things he used to enjoy with the band in the past. Unfortunately, his feelings worsened when he became a touring member alone and was no longer part of the recording lineup.

While he ultimately announced his retirement, he revealed that he played with a friend's band on several occasions but clarified that he had not touched a drumstick in the past two years.

Despite not being able to do so, Brown said he is not grateful that he already did everything he wanted to do as a musician.

Currently, his passion is riding a chopper while having a lot of time sleeping. He also finds joy in spending time with his friends outside the spotlight.
