Following an appeal for one resident to connect with his local "idol," Susan Boyle paid a special visit to a West Lothian nursing home.

The candidate from "Britain's Got Talent 2009" made two fast public appearances after her on-stage performance in the competition's final, despite rarely being seen in public.

Days later, the 62-year-old was pictured posing next to one lucky resident at Heatherfield Care Home in Armadale, and the latter resident couldn't be happier. Susan visited the activity center for afternoon tea less than a week after the facility posted an appeal in an effort to attract her notice. She also took the time to bring some gifts for residents, including her most recent CD and a signed portrait.

The nursing facility complimented the singer for her visit and noted that they had never seen inmates so content. We've been keeping a secret, they declared. As the most of you will have seen, we made a Facebook appeal a few weeks ago in an effort to introduce one of our wonderful gentlemen to his hometown hero Susan Boyle.

"We've been keeping a secret. As most of you will have seen, we put an appeal out on Facebook a few weeks ago hoping to connect one of our amazing gentlemen with his local idol Susan Boyle," they said.

They added, "Well we've only gone and done it! Less than a week later, Susan joined us in the Activity Hub for afternoon tea along with some of our residents and of course David himself. Not only did she spend time chatting to everyone over tea and cakes, she also kindly brought along some gifts for David including her latest CD and a photograph which she signed in front of him."

"We have never seen him so happy. He was positively star struck and we are beyond grateful for Susan and her team for setting the visit up. We strive to meet ALL of our residents individual needs. And at Heatherfield, we always go above and beyond to make them happy."

Susan Boyle, a celebrity from West Lothian, had an amazing stage comeback on Sunday's season finale of Britain's Got Talent. On June 4, she acknowledged that her stroke in April almost prevented her from making a comeback.

She sang "I Dreamed a Dream" with the "Les Misérable" cast, proving she had nothing to worry about.

The 62-year-old stated on Sunday, in reference to his comeback to the ITV talent competition: "It's extra special for me actually, because there, in April last year, I suffered a minor stroke, and I thought it'd be crazy to be back on stage and I have done it."

According to the Mirror, Simon Cowell continued to praise the celebrity and acknowledged that he had been aware of the singing sensation's hidden health issues. When Susan Boyle, also known as Su-Bo, returned to the stage, viewers flocked to social media to express their admiration.

One user tweeted that the singer was killing it tonight on BGT despite what she went through!

"I Dreamed A Dream," Susan's debut album, sold more than 10 million copies worldwide and became one of the biggest releases of the twenty-first century. Despite earning over £22 million in her career, the celebrity isn't one to "flash the cash."

Susan has remained devoted to West Lothian and continues to reside in her childhood house, unlike some celebrities who may be persuaded to relocate to larger homes or even abroad. Despite having some of the rooms renovated, she admitted that she still adores her former council house.

The singer claimed she spent £111,000 transforming her semi-detached house into her "dream home."
