Yes, Lea Michele, the star of the revival production of "Funny Girl" on Broadway, performed at the 2023 Tony Awards again after 13 years!

Lea Michele has once again grazed the Tony Awards with her presence and a performance of "Don't Rain on My Parade," a song she has been singing since the first season of "Glee" in 2009.

Lea Michele 2023 Tony Awards Performance

Earlier this week, it was announced that Lea Michele and "Funny Girl" will be given a special spot in the 2023 Tony Awards Performers lineup. This was quite a rare occurrence since "Funny Girl" was not eligible for any awards this year because their season started in 2022, a year ago.

However, they weren't permitted to perform at the Tony Awards last year because they failed to rack up musical nominations. Jared Grimes was the only person from the highly-anticipated revival production to be nominated last year. (via Vulture)

Ever since Michele took over the role from Beanie Feldstein, "Funny Girl" box office skyrocketed, and the negative reviews turned the other way around. She even announced the 2023 Tony Awards nominees with Myles Frost last May 2023.

Now, they were given a chance to perform at the closing performance of the "unscripted" ceremony.

Lea Michele gave her all as she kissed Ramin Karimloo's Nick Arnstein onstage. Michele surely did not disappoint in her performance. The same rave attention and applause she received onstage last night were the same ones she got every night when she's not sick from COVID-19 with Julie Benko replacing.

Lea Michele 2010 Tony Awards Performance

Unbeknownst to many, the 2023 performance was not the first time Michele sang "Don't Rain on My Parade" at the Tony Awards.

At the 2010 Tony Awards, she and Matthew Morrison performed at the annual celebration. Morrison performed "All I Need Is A Girl" from "Gypsy" while Michele belted out the song she first performed on "Glee."

For many and Michele, it was quite a full circle moment for her to take on the role of Fanny Brice on Broadway, as she had been "publicly auditioning" for the role in "Glee" for six seasons.
