Icona Pop rose to prominence in 2009 as a Swedish electropop duo; they shot up into stardom with the release of "I Love It," their breakthrough hit single.

They released their self-titled debut album in 2012, followed by their sophomore album "This Is... Icona Pop," however after its release, the duo seemingly dropped off from the face of the earth.

However, they are making a comeback with their new song "Where Do We Go From Here," from their brand new album "Club Romantech," which is expected to drop in September.

Icona Pop has been gearing up for the album's release for quite some time now; they have released several singles like "Feels in My Body," "Spa," "Off of My Mind," "You're Free," "I Want You," "Faster," and "S**t We Do For Love."

It was only with the announcement of the latest single did the Swedish electropop duo finally announce that an album is finally in the works.

Where Did Icona Pop Go?

Icona Pop consists of two members: Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo. While they have not released any new albums in the past 10 years, that does not mean they have not been working on any music at all.

"Back in Stockholm, we formed a small crew to start making music and thought 'what the f**k are we going to do now?'" They said.

"As Icona Pop, we can release a pop tune or a super hard dance song, and that's who we are," Caroline added. "When we started to write this album, we didn't have any rules. We just had a vision we wanted to share with our fans. We're inviting them into our world."

Aino also added, "We love disguising our heartbreaks and sadness in uplifting songs you can dance to. It was a very emotional process, and it's all in the music."
