Unbeknownst to many, Lauv has been battling with alcohol and drug abuse. The singer has not been very public about it, but his most recent post revealing that he's sober signified that he is taking the positive change in his life one step at a time.
Alcohol and drug abuse have been something that many artists in the industry are suffering from. That is why it is very encouraging for Lauv to share his journey with his loyal followers.
Lauv Finally Sober From Drug, Alcohol Abuse
Sharing to Instagram his latest achievement, Lauv announced that he is already five days sober! While that may seem a small number of days for some, for people who have been suffering from that addiction and abuse, it is already an incredible feat.
"I'm sober. It's been 5 days but it feels amazing. Like I don't even wanna drink much or do anything cause i'm feeling consistent and waking up in control and YEAH im just proud of myself and happy and wanted to tell you cause if you ever wanted to do something like that you could," he said on the caption.
According to him, it doesn't have just to be ditching alcohol or drug that one should celebrate or be encouraged - "just the idea that you can commit to yourself and what you know is best for you if what you're doing isn't working for you" - even saying that it could be a relationship or a job.
As expected, his fans have showered him a lot of support and love for the huge step to his sobriety.

Lauv Sang & Wrote 'Steal The Show' on 'Elementals'
Lauv recently joined forces with Disney for a new song "Steal The Show" on the new Pixar film "Elementals."
According to the singer, writing and singing "Steal The Show" was a really different experience.
"I sat down with Thomas Newman, and he gave me a couple of sounds that he was working with, and I asked, 'Can I have a couple of minutes in a room, pull up a piano and turn on the microphone?' I had melodies, chords and a couple of key lyrics totally freestyled after watching the scene," he explained, as quoted by UDiscoverMusic.
