Ariana Grande has been painted as the main villain in her past relationships, but a psychologist explained why it should not be the case.

Since Grande's split from her husband of two years Dalton Gomez emerged, a now-viral video of the singer's past relationships with several men and the allegations that she "ruined" other people's romance has surfaced.

Most recently, she was called out for causing her "Wicked" co-star Ethan Slater to divorce his wife, resonating with the pattern she reportedly had in her relationships with Mac Miller, Big Sean, and Pete Davidson.

Why Ariana Grande Is NOT the "Main Villain"

Licensed clinical psychologist Isabelle Morley, who specializes in couples therapy, recently explained that it is no longer unusual for people in relationships to be attracted to other people.

As it can become a pattern, the psychologist explained that Grande - the one who has been receiving the "other woman" title - received criticisms more harshly compared with the men who cheated on their partners and dated her.

"It's not setting yourself up for success," Morley said, per Insider. "Those relationships don't tend to flourish because there are a lot of complicated feelings that can doom them in many ways."

For what it's worth, Grande was accused of ruining her own and other people's relationships, including her alleged cheating incident on Jai Brooks to date Nathan Skyes in 2013.

Her comment resonated with online comments saying women like Grande suffer more public hate even when they are not the ones who cheated on their partner.

Ariana Grande Receives Hate Comments

In Grande's case with Slater, the actor's wife recently said that her family is "collateral damage" in the duo's budding romance. However, a source claimed to Page Six that Jay is actually calling every news outlet in order to expose her estranged husband and Grande since they caused their marriage to fall apart.

Over the past weeks, the "7 Rings" hitmaker has received nicknames like "homewrecker" and "cheater" as her stories emerged. Internet users also slammed her for ruining Slater's family, who just welcomed their first child in August 2022.

On the other hand, Grande's team clarified that things only happened after Slater split from his wife, while a source claimed that the new rumored couple only started dating after he and Jay broke up.
