It was announced today that legendary punk trio Sleater-Kinney will be reissuing all of their studio albums in a limited edition vinyl box set, titled Start Together. The box set will include newly remastered versions of all seven Sleater-Kinney albums on colored vinyl, as well as a hardcover book of previously unreleased photos. Start Together will be released on Oct. 21 through Sub Pop and is available for pre-order, though the reissues are available digitally right now.

The albums were remastered by Greg Calbi, who explained the work he put into the albums. "For such ferocious music, it was actually a very delicate process," he said. "I found, in dealing with one of the earlier albums, that my signal path and compression, including my Burl B2 convertor, gave me a more resonant, deeper sound on the guitars than the originals. Because the band rarely, if ever, used bass, I felt that this added to the aggressiveness and power of the band overall."

"I believe this treatment added a subtle, yet important, dimension to the band," he continues, "and I explored each of the other albums with the same intention. Above all, their music, from inception, stands the test of time for the cleverness and emotional impact they brought to their genre."

Sleater-Kinney formed in Olympia, Washington in 1994 and originally consisted of guitarist Carrie Brownstein, guitarist/lead vocalist Corin Tucker, and drummer Lora MacFarlane, who was replaced by Janet Weiss in 1997. The band went on hiatus in 2006 following the release of their seventh album The Woods, and Brownstein went on to a second career as an actress and writer with her show Portlandia.

Start Together will contain:

Sleater-Kinney (1995)
Call The Doctor (1996)
Dig Me Out (1997)
The Hot Rock (1999)
All Hands On The Bad One (2000)
One Beat (2002)
The Woods (2005)
