Everyone was stunned to learn that Doja Cat did not top this week's Billboard Hot 100 chart after highly projecting "Paint The Town Red" to be the first No. 1 rap song of 2023 last week.

Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves' "I Remember Everything," which was also projected to race to No. 1 last week, pulled a last-minute overtake - which makes it the fourth country music hit to rule the charts this year.

Zach Bryan, Kacey Musgraves 'I Remember Everything' Billboard Hot 100

According to Billboard, Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves' collaboration "I Remember Everything" topped this week's Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Based on Luminate's numbers, "I Remember Everything" amassed 33.7 million streams and has sold more than 10,000 downloads online. The song, despite not being promoted on the radio, racked up 263,000 radio airplay impressions, which was a huge number on the Country Airplay chart. Concurrently, the song also rules the Streaming Songs chart, and No. 4 on the Digital Song Sales Chart.

Bryan and Musgraves would definitely remember this moment as "I Remember Everything" officially becomes their first No. 1 song respectively. This was a huge leap for both Bryan and Musgraves as the former only had one Top 10 hit, "Something Orange," while the latter only entered No. 60 with "Follow Your Arrow," her highest charting single.

Notably, the song, being a Country and a Rock song, the song rules the Hot Rock & alternative Songs, Hot Rock Songs, and Hot Country Songs in its first week. This was Bryan's second time to top all three charts concurrently, he first did it with "Something Orange." As for Musgraves, this was her first chartleader.

Perhaps the most glaring achievement of "I Remember Everything" was that it was the fourth country song to top the Billboard Hot 100 charts this 2023. We all know that the country genre experienced a massive surge in consumption this year, which explains the phenomenon.

"I Remember Everything" replaces Oliver Anthony's "Rich Men North of Richmond" which ruled two weeks of the charts prior. Morgan Wallen's "Last Night," which was recently crowned Billboard's Song of the Summer has spent 16 weeks atop, while Jason Aldean's controversial "Try That In A Small Town" peaked atop for a week.

Doja Cat 'Paint The Town Red' Fails To Become First #1 Rap Song of 2023 This Week

Despite being highly projected to become this week's No. 1 song, Doja Cat's "Paint The Town Red" only peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Huge expectations are behind "Paint The Town Red" as it has been over a year since a rap song has topped the charts. The last one was Nicki Minaj with "Super Freaky Girl" in August 2022.

She still has a chance next week, if the song would receive more streaming and radio power. However, Luke Combs' "Fast Cars" has been steady at No. 2 for eight weeks, so that may be a problem.
