Joey Belladonna shared what he would do if Journey would offer him a gig to sing for the band.

Belladonna's hands are full with his projects with Anthrax and his Journey tribute band, Beyond Frontiers. Despite that, he seemingly has a space for a potential Journey gig.

Joey Belladonna Interested in Taking Journey Singer Position

The singer recently sat for an interview with 100 FM The Pike radio station's Mike Hsu during which he was asked whether he was ever approached by someone to lead Journey or sing with the act.

Per Belladonna, no one came to him about a potential gig, but he expressed his interest in doing so.

"So, and I know 'em and I've been touch with Deen [Castronovo) a lot," he said. "But no, no one's ever really asked me about joining or anything like that, which would've been interesting."

He said he would be interested in doing the gig as he "would love that challenge."

However, for now, he remains focused on Anthrax and his Journey tribute band.

Why Did Joey Belladonna Create Beyond Frontiers?

Hsu also asked the musician about his and his projects with his Journey tribute band, Beyond Frontiers, and why he launched the band despite having a successful career already.

Belladonna noted that he has been singing Journey songs throughout the years, but he reportedly never had a band who could do the same with him. Justin Ward, Doug Carter, Paul Arntz and Matt Basford completed his dream to have the tribute band, starting when it debuted in March 2020 at the Beacon Theatre in Hopewell, Virginia.

"People ask why the hell I do it," he previously told The Johnny Dare Morning show. "I just like the songs. I've liked the band forever. And I just wanted to do it because I think it's a cool challenge and it's just fun music."

He admitted to loving the band before Steve Perry joined, revealing that he has all the band's records and that he became interested in singing the songs live.

Beyond Frontiers officially kicked off its U.S. trek in August, starting in San Diego. The band will visit more cities until its last show in Cocoa Beach.
