Kelly Clarkson has set the records straight: she is single, and not ready to mingle.

"Do I have a boyfriend? No! And not looking. You know why? I love being single," the "Since U Been Gone" singer declared during an Instagram Live.

Clarkson also happens to be a full-time mom and a pet owner aside from being a career woman, which is why she has her hands full and no time for romance.

"I have two kids, two dogs, three rabbits, a hamster, multiple jobs - there's a lot going on," she continued. "And, you know, you think you're going to spend the rest of your life with somebody, and you don't. That's hard to start over."

Clarkson got divorced from her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock in March 2022 after a series of legal disputes over child custody as well as shared properties.

Kelly Clarkson Enjoys Being Single

After getting divorced, the "Breakaway" singer moved to New York with her children River Rose and Remington Alexander, and even launched her talk show "The Kelly Clarkson Show."

Despite the new scenery and enjoying being single, Clarkson is also candid about the pain of going through a separation.

She released a new album, "Chemistry," which chronicles the end of a marriage, however, she also claims that it isn't necessarily a "divorce album."

"It's a hard record. It was hard to make, but it's also not just [about] the bad of a relationship," Clarkson explained. "I didn't want it to be a divorce album; I wanted it to be a relationship album. And there's good stuff on there, like 'Favorite Kind of High.' There's good parts.

"It wasn't all bad, so I wanted to celebrate that as a whole. For the most part, it's sad. But that's how I work through what's going on with me: through writing."

Kelly Clarkson Focuses on Career, Children

Moving to New York City was a new experience for both Clarkson and her children.

"I love living here, and I'm a Texas girl, so I did not think I was gonna love it so much. But you will see this face all the time at the park. I love walking around," Clarkson continued.

She gushed about the subway and the city's public transportation system, noting that it helps her get around the city so quickly without the need for a car.

"But I love it here. I think it's what you surround yourself with," she added.
