BLACKPINK's resident rapper slash singer, Jennie, just announced that she will be releasing a new single in two days' time, and fans cannot help but think about the KPOP girl group's fate.

According to reports, Jennie will be releasing a brand new song, "You & Me," five years after her debut single "Solo," on Oct. 6.

While this is the official announcement of its release, this is not the first time fans have heard about the song. The singer performed "You & Me" during the opening show of BLACKPINK's "Born Pink" world tour in Seoul's KSPO Dome last year.

"We hope the song becomes a special gift through which fans remember their memories from 'Born Pink' tour," YG Entertainment, the KPOP star's label and talent agency, wrote.

BLACKPINK Contract Renewal Fiasco

The news of Jennie releasing a new song comes as a complete surprise to her fans, especially since she and her fellow BLACKPINK members, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose, are having issues with the renewal of their contracts with YG Entertainment.

According to reports, fans expressed their curiosity and fears following the announcement of the upcoming single. Many think that the song is a farewell from the KPOP star.

"I think the poster is fine. I wonder if this is her last release before leaving YG Entertainment," one wrote.

"Is she renewing?" Another pondered.

"Is this a digital single? Is this her saying goodbye?"
