Fans have been waiting for Corey Taylor to reunite with his other band, Stone Sour, for years now as the band has been inactive for quite a while.

More recently, the musician revealed whether he's ready to have a reunion with the group or not.

Taylor spoke with Metal Hammer to share that he felt it was a "very selfish" of him when he brought back Stone Sour during his break from Slipknot in the early 2000s.

He admitted in the conversation that he knew his other group would never have "the same impact" as the original one.

"You have one chance at grabbing lightning, and Slipknot was that chance," he said.

One of the reasons why he decided to do it was due to his "Ego" as he was very young at the time and he wanted more credit for his contribution to Slipknot.

"Reforming Stone Sour meant I got better as a songwriter and was able to contribute music to Slipknot. But it came from a purely selfish place of just wanting to feel like I could do it," he said.

Stone Sour Reunion NOT Happening Soon, But Still Possible in the Future

The group took an indefinite break in 2020 and fans are still hoping for the group to get together for a new album or even a tour.

Even though the band is currently taking a break, it's still possible for them to reunite in the near future as he didn't want to completely abandon his work with the other band.

Speaking about his thoughts about a possible reunion, he said: "I'm in no hurry to do it again, let's put it that way."

Stone Sour Reunion Slightly Happened?

According to Metal Injection, the closest thing to a Stone Sour reunion happened earlier this month when Corey Taylor performed along with drummer Roy Mayorga.

At the time, the Stone Sour members reunited on stage to play "Absolute Zero" and "30/30-150" at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, California.
