Pink spoke candidly about the drug overdose she suffered from that nearly took her life.

The "Just Give Me a Reason" singer is currently in the middle of her "Trustfall" tour, although she recently canceled some of her shows due to a respiratory infection. She previously suffered other health issues -sinus infection, staph infection, ulcer and ankle injury, among others.

However, her major health setback happened in 1995 when she suffered an overdose that nearly took her life.

Pink Almost Died After a Drug Overdose

Speaking with "60 Minutes" on Sunday, October 22, Pink looked back at the time her childhood experiences led to her overdose. She reportedly faced the near-fatal experience weeks before signing her first record deal with LaFace Records in 1995.

"I was a punk," she said. "I had a mouth. I had a chip on my shoulder. Basically I grew up in a house where every day my parents were screaming at each other, throwing things. They hated each other. I got into drugs. I was selling drugs."

Pink, who was "off the rails" before the Thanksgiving rave, eventually overdosed after consuming substances like ecstasy, crystal and angel dust.

The interviewer, Cecilia Vega, then asked her if she almost died, and Pink responded, "Yeah."

The "Cover Me In Sunshine" singer admitted that the near-fatal overdose became a turning point for her and that she gave up on hard drugs after the incident.

Pink's Public Battle With Drug Abuse

Before the interview, Pink already spoke about her experiences in other discussions.

In 2012, she told Shape Magazine that she was not hospitalized after the near-fatal overdose.

"I remember getting up off the floor in the morning - and that was the last time I ever touched a drug again," she said. "It was also the day a DJ offered to let me sing on hip-hop night. His only caveat was that I couldn't do drugs, so I didn't."

Pink's traumatic upbringing in Doylestown, Pa., before she rose to fame caused her to depend on drugs. Now, she does everything to make her family safe and secure.

She wed Carey Hart in 2006, and they share children Willow and Jameson.

As for the secret behind her success, Pink revealed that being honest and upfront helped her to reach where she is now.
