On Monday, September 1, 2014, The Toby Keith Foundation partnered with the Chatenay Square Merchants Association for the second annual Kones for the Korral benefit in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. All proceeds from the event went to OK Kids Korral, a home for kids that are battling cancer at The Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center, Peggy & Charles Stephenson Cancer Center and other nearby facilities that is totally cost-free to the families.

The event featured almost a dozen different flavors of ice cream from Braum's, Blue Bell Creameries, A&W and Freddy's Frozen Custard. There were also water slides, bounce houses, a stage with free entertainment, face painting, and pony rides to make the day even more fun. Local Oklahoma vendors also sold handmade products.

The OK Kids Korral is a project founded and run by The Toby Keith Foundation which opened on November 21, 2013. The 25,000 square foot facility includes:

  • 12 private suites; each sleeps up to five people and includes a refrigerator
  • 4 daytime rooms
  • Gourmet kitchen
  • Indoor and outdoor dining areas
  • Comfortable living areas
  • Family resource room
  • Laundry room
  • A neutropenic wing for children with weakened immune systems
  • Movie theater
  • Game room and teen area
  • Indoor and outdoor play areas
  • Relaxation gardens and water feature
  • Reflection room

The Kones for the Korral event is only one that the foundation holds to raise funds. Car Washes are frequent and in October, they will hold the 2nd Annual Schooner Fall Classic, a golf tournament that stands to raise thousands.
