This year's ARIA Awards earned major milestones for the LGTBTQIA+ community with Troye Sivan and Kylie Minogue's monumental wins.

According to reports, Sivan earned four pointed glass trophies for Best Solo Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for "Rush," Best Engineered Release, and Best Produced Release.

Meanwhile, Minogue won Best Pop Release for her viral song "Padam Padam," which easily became a beloved song of the LGBTQIA+ community. This is the first time the singer has received an ARIA Award in 21 years.

"I'm so proud to be Australian, I'm so excited for the future of Australian music. I swear I'm not bragging," the "Got Me Started" singer said in his acceptance speech.

Sivan also noted that he and Minogue have been nominated in the same category at the Grammy Awards, which "makes [him] so so proud."

Other songs off Sivan's third studio album, "Something to Give Each Other," also earned several nominations.

Genesis Owusu Calls For 'Ceasefire'

Genesis Owusu, born Kofi Owusu-Ansah, expressed his frustrations with the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The artist is an Australian-Ghanaian singer.

"There are a lot of atrocious, atrocious things happening in the world right now. We must do what we can to stop it at any junction that we can," the Australian-Ghanaian singer said in his speech after winning Album of the Year. "With that being said: ceasefire now, ceasefire now, ceasefire now. Free Palestine.

"It's impossible to ... not be confronted by the destruction being committed by war, racism, politics. I know a lot of people have been divided and are struggling with this, and it's often in moments like this that I'm reminded of the importance of art and music, which I think sit at the opposite end of that spectrum. Music has always been an antidote in our lives during troubled moments."
