Jung Kook is currently taking over the world of music in the international scene, but he had to put a pause on his successful career as he announced his military enlistment which will begin next month.

According to Billboard, the BTS member took to Weverse to share the announcement where he wrote an emotional letter to his followers, saying he will be leaving them for a while.

"As I share this news, I feel heavy on one hand, and on the other hand, I'm reminded of precious memories with ARMY, so my heart warms up. Every moment I've spent with you has been the brightest time of my life," he wrote.

   

The "Seven" hitmaker further noted that the fandom's support and laughter led him to this point and he continued expressing his gratitude to those who were always beside him and fans that are walking with him silently.

Jung Kook Promises to Come Back With a Matured Perspective After Military Enlistment

Later in his letter, Jung Kook told his followers to wait for him while he served in the South Korean army.

Although a year and a half is long, he promises to come back on stage and perform again "with a more mature side where I always am."

"I'll miss you deeply while waiting for the day we meet again and talk about something new. Don't get sick and stay healthy. I love you," he concluded.

Other BTS Members Preparing to be Enlisted Into the Army

Jung Kook isn't the only member of BTS that will be enlisted into the army as his bandmates RM, V, and Jimin, also began the process of preparing for their military journey.

The outlet noted that the country of South Korea where the massive Kpop boyband is from requires its citizens to enlist an 18-month military service to all able-bodied men when they turn 28.

Last year, the group announced they would be taking a break from music as members will be enlisted into the military.

Variety reported that members like Jin, Suga, and J-Hope, already begun their mandatory military service months ago and they were the first batch to do so.
