Time Square is becoming Golden thanks to Jung Kook. The member of BTS shocked fans in New York City on Thursday by giving an unexpected performance on the TSX Stage in Times Square.

Following a countdown reminiscent of New Year's Eve on a large structure, Jung Kook appeared on the TSX Stage flanked by dancers.

He said, "Let's have fun," as he began to sing the song "Standing Next to You," to applause from the audience. More than 280,000 people watched from home during the concert by combining BTS's YouTube channel with an Xbox broadcast.

"This place is amazing. It's an honor to perform in New York's Times Square," Jung Kook told the massive crowd, before playing "Yes Or No." Fans in New York City were given a 30-minute heads up and ended up packing a large area next to the stage.

At a certain moment, while playing tracks like "3D," "Please Don't Change," and his collaboration with Latto, Jung Kook remarked, "The view is incredible."

The singer also appeared on "the Today Show" the day before and performed. Following a few careless single releases in 2022, such as the World Cup anthem "Dreamers," Jung Kook started releasing tracks for Golden throughout the summer.

The album itself was released on November 3rd of last year and included remixes by DJ Snake and Major Lazer. (Jung Kook collaborated with Kid Laroi and Central Tee on a new song called "Too Much" in addition to his solo work.)

In a heartwarming video, one can see just how much Jung Kook loves his fans.

A ten-year-old girl was seen in a video holding a poster and whispering, "I love you," to Jungkook. "I love you too" was Jungkook's imitation of her response. He said, "Thank you," as the girl celebrated her birthday with Jungkook.

In addition, Jungkook wished her a "happy birthday." As the little fan chatted with Jungkook, she couldn't hold back her tears, and he mocked her by mimicking her sobs. Laughing, he said, "Thank you" once more.

He also appeared on Zane Lowe on Thursday, talking about BTS and how much he missed his group mates.

"Preparing as a solo artist and also working as a solo musician... there were times where I really missed [being in the group]," he said. "When I was in the waiting room or standing by myself on stage or eating with the staff. We were always together for so many years that I felt the void of them not being next to me."

"You know, I miss them. And I was thinking about them. So I suppose that year could seem far away, but I don't want to think that way," he added. "I think the synergy of BTS in 2025 will be incredible. I am so looking forward to it."
