Jung Kook recently enlisted in the South Korean military, therefore his music career is currently on pause. But that did not stop him from achieving something great with his already existing portfolio of hits.

The singer's work from the second half of 2023 is still doing incredibly well on the Billboard charts, despite his other commitments.

His most recent single is still going strong, and it greatly aids him in matching with another celebrity this week.

Jung Kook is dominating this week's Digital Song Sales chart, which is a ranking of the bestselling songs in the United States by Billboard. "Standing Next To You," the hit song by the BTS member, takes the top spot on the purchase-focused chart once again.

Before 2023 ended, "Standing Next To You" has topped the Digital Song Sales chart for five weeks running.

The cut has taken multiple pauses from the throne as other celebrities have taken over to lead the show, so those top spots weren't all consecutive.

Jung Kook consistently makes it back to the top, and his song has finally accomplished a noteworthy feat. On the Digital Song Sales list, Jung Kook's most recent hit is currently tied for the most frames at No. 1 with Miley Cyrus's "Flowers."

On the buy-only tally, both of the songs scored five turns in first place. Since the next chart frame will be dated in January 2024, they will finish 2023 with a match. "Standing Next To You" was down at No. 2 on the Digital Song Sales list in the previous frame.

It lost prominence to Jack Harlow's brand-new song, "Lovin on Me." That cut now falls to third position. Interestingly, the two musicians' collaboration "3D," which topped for two frames in October, helped them achieve a sales No. 1 earlier this year.

In 2023, Cyrus' career took off once more after a short hiatus, announcing a brand-new song called "Flowers" with the tagline "New Year, New Miley, New Single" during her second NBC NYE special, which she co-hosted with godmother Dolly Parton and collaborated on an amazing mash-up of "Wrecking Ball" and "I Will Always Love You."

The Smilers were excitedly piecing together clues to figure out the meaning of the suddenly popular song when she capitalized on the drowsy January news cycle and threw her supporters into overdrive.

Lyric teasers hinted at a realization that came after a breakup: "I can love me better than you can." The song was released on January 13, which also happens to be Cyrus' ex-husband Liam Hemsworth's birthday.
