A few weeks ago, fans were happy that Lauryn Hill started her comeback concert as it has been a long time since she last took the stage. However, the musician had to postpone her series of shows over the next few weeks because of her current health condition; what happened?
According to Rolling Stone, the legendary hip-hop artist will be taking a break from performing in front of her thousands of fans due to vocal strain.
Taking to her official Instagram account, the singer shared the announcement by posting a video of herself on stage.

In the caption, she wrote: "As many of you may know, I've been battling serious vocal strain for the past month. I made it through each show by taking prescribed prednisone, but this can be detrimental to the body when taken in large amounts over long periods of time."
Lauryn Hill Taking a Break From Touring Because of Vocal Strain
Lauryn Hill noted in her post that she had to stop taking the medications continuously because it would have a negative effect on her voice and body.
With that being said, the musician needed to take a break from touring to allow herself to take a break and recover.

"For this reason we have to reschedule most of the remaining shows this year. The shows that were cancelled this year will be rescheduled for early 2024," she added.
The singer clarified that she will still take the stage of the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia this November 25, 2023, Saturday, the remaining eight shows of the current run of her tour will be postponed and will be booked by 2024.
Lauryn Hill to Add NEW Dates for Her Tour
Due to popular demand and "overwhelming response," Lauryn Hill confirmed that she will add more cities to the tour not just in the United States and North America, but also in other places overseas.
As of this writing, there are still no concrete plans for the new tour dates and the rescheduled shows have yet to be announced.
This was not the first time Lauryn Hill canceled a performance as she also did it in late October just hours before she's scheduled to take the stage.
At the time, she also suffered from vocal issues and she had to cancel her show because it was not safe and sustainable for her.
