Cage The Elephant are still touring in support of their 2013 album Melophobia, and they just produced perhaps their best music video yet for the single "Cigarette Daydreams."

The Kentucky band called upon famed director Mark Pellington (Pearl Jam's "Jeremy," Foo Fighters' "The Best of You," Bruce Springsteen's "Lonesome Day") to shoot the gorgeous video, which falls under the "better than the song itself" category.

Filmed in Los Angeles, the vid features a 90-second avant garde introduction and then loosely tells the story of a young woman tortured by memories.

The track doesn't capitalize much on a poppy chord progression, but it's an emotional song nonetheless. At the climax, lead singer Matthew Shultz walks toward the main character as her car goes up in flames on the Los Angeles River.
