Born Elena Jane Goulding on December 30, 1986, the musician is now 37 years old. Her upbringing was simple as she was born in Hereford, Hereforshire in England, and spent the early years of her life in a small village called Lyonshall.

Things weren't easy for a young Ellie Goulding as she admitted to The Standard UK that her family was "super-poor."

Regardless, she was able to turn her life around, and explained, "My life has turned out good and I feel exceptionally lucky for that. There were circumstances in my childhood that could have taken me in a very different direction - the same with some of my friends and their families."

In an interview with Rolling Stone in early 2023, the musician explained that she wanted "Higher Than Heaven" to be completely different from her 2020 album "Brightest Blue."

In that way, she felt that it became her least personal album as most of the songs weren't taken from personal experiences, but regardless, she still felt that it was her best album to date.

"It's the least personal album, but I think it's the best album because I got to just explore other things about myself. I just really, really enjoy writing, really enjoy being a singer," she noted. (via NME)
