Taylor Swift has always been the center of some of the wildest rumors and conspiracy theories, but Fox News host Jesse Watters took it to the next level by linking the singer to the Pentagon.

According to reports, the reporter claimed that "around four years ago, the Pentagon's psychological operations unit floated turning Taylor Swift into an asset."

"It's real. The Pentagon psy-op unit pitched NATO on turning Taylor Swift into an asset for combating misinformation online," Watters added.

He also showed a clip of the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence noting that Swift is a powerful influencer during their 2019 conference.

Pentagon Denies Using Taylor Swift in Political Agenda

The conspiracy theory has reached the Pentagon, which immediately stated in response to Watter's claims: "as for this conspiracy theory, we are going to shake it off."

"But that does highlight that we still need Congress to approve our supplemental budget request as Swift-ly as possible so we can be out of the woods with potential fiscal concerns."

Taylor Swift Uses Her Voice During Election Season

One of the reasons why the "Cruel Summer" singer must have been pulled into the wild conspiracy is due to her influence and how she uses her voice to spread awareness-especially during election season.

"Not a psy-op or a Pentagon asset," wrote Andrea Hailey, CEO of Vote.org "Just the biggest nonpartisan platform in America helping young people register & cast their vote."

According to reports, Swift has become outspoken about different political and cultural issues in recent years.

The "You Belong With Me" singer began openly supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and advocated for their rights, which was highlighted in her 2019 song "You Need to Calm Down."

Aside from that, she also advocates for reproductive rights and safety gun reforms.

During the 2020 presidential elections, she endorsed current President Joe Biden.

When fans found out about the singer being linked to the Pentagon, they could not help but laugh.

Meanwhile, there were other Swifties who defended Swift from the claims.

"This is so unserious. Shake it off then!"

"No Taylor, no clout!"

"They can't fathom Taylor's level of fame and influence so they need to pretend it must be a government conspiracy IJBOL."

"At the end of the day a woman minding her own business doing her little job will always be a threat to men."

"Every Taylor headline these days reads like AI."
