• MySpace running huge digital exhibit on Pharrell Williams' discography

    Pharrell Williams is having a big year, as we've noted before. Aside from his production work, his Oscar nomination, and singing the hooks for two of the year's most downloaded songs ("Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke and "Get Lucky" by Daft Punk), MySpace is now running a huge digital exhibit on the producer/performer's career.

    Pulling double-duty on Saturday Night Live has become a trend for artists who can both sing and act. Following Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber, Drake will be the next in line to serve both SNL roles simultaneously. The announcement was made on this weekend's show that Drake will take over the January 18, 2014 episode.

    The ever-prolific Flaming Lips are giving the 2008 feature film Christmas on Mars its online debut today. Written and directed by frontman Wayne Coyne, the story centers on Major Syrtis during his first Christmas on Mars, which has recently been colonized. It features guest appearances by Portlandia's Fred Armisen, Modest Mouse's Isaac Brock and Adam Goldberg, according to Consequence of Sound.

    Justin Bieber just dropped his latest studio album Journals today (Dec. 23) at midnight. Originally due out last Monday (Dec. 16), the teen idol delayed the album's release by seven days because he wanted to add a new song. Though that song, titled "Flatline," doesn't appear on the official version of Journals, it is available as a free download on iTunes right alongside that album.

    Pussy Riot members Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova were both released from Russian prisons on Monday, the Associated Press reports. Following their release, both members spoke to the media and were still critical of Russia's government and President Vladimir Putin. Upon her realease, Tolokonnikova shouted, "Russia without Putin!," according to the Free Pussy Riot Twitter account.
