The ever-prolific Flaming Lips are giving the 2008 feature film Christmas on Mars its online debut today. Written and directed by frontman Wayne Coyne, the story centers on Major Syrtis during his first Christmas on Mars, which has recently been colonized. It features guest appearances by Portlandia's Fred Armisen, Modest Mouse's Isaac Brock and Adam Goldberg, according to Consequence of Sound. -

Pussy Riot members Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova were both released from Russian prisons on Monday, the Associated Press reports. Following their release, both members spoke to the media and were still critical of Russia's government and President Vladimir Putin. Upon her realease, Tolokonnikova shouted, "Russia without Putin!," according to the Free Pussy Riot Twitter account. -
