Your father is a master cellist and you need a tight group for your wedding reception, so what do you do? Well, in the case of Emily Horner Ma, the progeny of the world-renowned Yo-Yo Ma, ask your father not to play.

At a church in Lenox, Massachusetts on September 27, Emily Ma had her wedding reception and wanted her father to dismiss himself as a musician for the night and assume the role of "dad." A wonderful sentiment. But was Yo-Yo upset?

Probably not.

But, as WQXR points out, this would mean no arrangements of Wagner's "Bridal Chorus" as the bride made her way to the alter, or tango transcriptions during the alcohol-induced reception dances.

Regardless, Emily married RBC investment banker John Mistovich in front of a crowd of 300 at Trinity Episcopal Church.
