Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Taylor Swift and more added as Grammy performers
Rock legends Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will perform at the 56th annual Grammy Awards, Billboard reports. The two former Beatles will be this year's recipients of the Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award. During their time as a band, the Beatles were awarded nine Grammys, starting with a nod for Best New Artist in 1964.
This year, McCartney is nominated for Best Rock Song for "Cut Me Some Slack," his collaboration with the surviving members of Nirvana.
Among the newly announced list of performers for the night are current nominees John Legend, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban. The night will also feature a special performance from Album of the Year nominee Sara Bareilles and MusiCares Person of the Year, Carole King.
Previously announced performers include Katy Perry, Lorde, Robin Thicke and Metallica; Daft Punk, who will be joined by Stevie Wonder, Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams; Pink with fun.'s Nate Ruess; Kendrick Lamar with Imagine Dragons; and a special group performance by Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Blake Shelton.
Hosted by LL Cool J, the Grammy Awards ceremony will air live from the Los Angeles Staples enter January 26 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
