The identity of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's matchmaker has finally been revealed. Violet von Westenholz, Prince Harry's childhood friend, was the one who introduced him to the former actress.
A source recently revealed that Prince Harry and Violet's friendship goes a long way back. The two are so close to each other to the point that Violet's younger sister, Victoria, was also linked to the prince.
"Harry was really having a hard time finding anyone. It's hard enough finding someone new to date. He can hardly go on Tinder or a dating app like normal people, but to meet someone that you actually connect with, that was proving to be almost impossible," said a source.
Violet and Markle met each other through the former's fashion work with Ralph Lauren. When Violet learned that Prince Harry was looking for a girlfriend, she decided to introduce him to the Suits alum. Prince Harry and Markle went on their first date in 2016, and they instantly clicked.

After announcing their engagement, the couple revealed that they were set up on a blind date by their common friend. However, they said that they wish to protect their friend's privacy by not naming her during their first sit-down interview. Before agreeing to go out on a date with Prince Harry, Markle asked Violet if the prince was nice.
"I'd never, never even heard about her until this friend said, 'Meghan Markle.' I was like, 'Right okay, give me, give me a bit of background, like what's going on here?' When I walked into that room and saw her and there she was sitting there, I was like, 'Okay, well I'm going to have to really up my game here,'" said Prince Harry.
Matchmaker Speculations Heighten
Prior to Violet's identity being revealed, there were some rumors suggesting that Markle and Prince Harry were introduced to each other by the Horrible Bosses star's best friend, Jessica Mulroney. Some royal fans also thought that the couple met through Misha Nonoo, a famed fashion designer.
Last year, Markle and Prince Harry were photographed for the first time at the Invictus Games. They were joined by Markle's friend, Markus Anderson. The global membership director of Soho House was also assumed to be Markle and Prince Harry's "secret" matchmaker. Anderson and Markle became friends since both of them lived in Canada for quite some time.
