The Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj is receiving criticism from her own fans for endorsing a "diss track" that features a conservative commentator and peaked at number one on the iTunes charts.

Minaj first heard "Facts," a song by rapper and wrestler Tom McDonald that includes a verse by Shapiro in which he makes reference to the Pink Friday star.

"Nicki take some notes, I just did this for fun/All my people download this, let's get a Billboard number-one," Shapiro utters throughout his verse.

She was drawn to this shout-out, and at first seemed to clap back at the commentator in disbelief, posting on X/Twitter: "Ben Shapiro? Ben Shapiro is #1 on iTunes? This better be a good edit. BARBZ if y'all don't quit playin!!!!""

When she listened to the song, though, her tone shifted and she appeared startled by what she heard. As an afterthought, the 'Starships' singer said,"I just listened to it Ben Shapiro, not bad. Roman's Revenge."

She continued, "Ben Shapiro put out a diss record. He said his comment sections are filled with woke Karens. The song is #1 on US iTunes. What is rlly [sic] happening & whos [sic] is that other man rapping???? Is this real life??!! He said "Nicki take some notes." Nah [laughing emojis] AYO nah."

However, this prompted Barbz to turn against her.

"Oh no baby what are you doing?" exclaimed one individual. Another asked: "Did you read his twitter bio?" A third added: "LMAOOO "not bad" horrible actually." In response to Minaj, Shapiro said: "Didn't know what I was doing, but I put on a cape. Now it's, "Which world tour should I go on today?"

Meanwhile, a public dispute between fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion and Minaj is currently centered around the lyrics to the latter's song, "Hiss." Shapiro was known for criticizing Stallion's song "WAP" from 2020.

When Nicki Minaj made a joke about Megan Thee Stallion's mother, who passed away a few years ago, on Friday, which escalated the feud.

After Stallion slammed her four-year husband Kenneth Petty in her new song "Hiss," Minaj went on Instagram Live. Minaj responded by telling Megan to "call up her mother and apologize" as the song was "disgusting." Holly Thomas, Megan's mother, passed away in March 2019 due to a malignant brain tumor.
