Taylor Swift attracted negative comments for allegedly snubbing Celine Dion at the Grammy Awards 2024.

The viewers of the annual ceremony were left disappointed by how Swift reportedly disrespected Dion after winning the Album of the Year award. The stiff person syndrome-stricken singer made a surprise appearance at the event amid her health battle.

Taylor Swift Slammed for Snubbing Celine Dion

Swift made history when she won the Album of the Year award for her "Midnights" album, becoming the only person in history to win the recognition for four times.

The "Anti-Hero" singer hugged her friends after hearing the announcement before going up on stage to greet and hug more people.

However, she only took the gramophone from Dion without looking at her and hugging her. Dion, on the other hand, smiled awkwardly before looking down and moving to the back of the stage.

After seeing how Swift "ignored" the "To Love You More" hitmaker, fans and viewers took to X to call out the "champagne problems" singer.

One said, "My biggest disappointment of the Grammys was Taylor Swift winning Album of the year and hugging all of her people but taking the trophy from Celine Dion as if she was the hat-check girl, and not seeming to realize how very amazing it was that Celine was standing there at all."

"Taylor Swift just took the album of the year trophy from Celine Dion without batting an eye and/or acknowledging that a legendary was handing her the award. So cringey for my soul," another shared, per The U.S. Sun.

"OK but TaylorSwift waiting and ignoring Celine Dion is a crime? NOT HUGGING HER AND JUST TAKING THE TROPHY? WHAT?!" another chimed in.

Dion, who won the Album of the Year award in 1997 for "Falling Into You," has been out of the spotlight since announcing her diagnosis in December 2022. She still made few appearances while battling the neurological disorder, but it pushed her to cancel the remainder of her Courage World Tour.

Her journey has since been shown in the Prime Video documentary, "I Am: Celine Dion."

"When I say, I'm happy to be here, I really mean it, from my heart," Dion said after her appearance. "Those who have been blessed enough to be here at the Grammy Awards must never take for granted the tremendous love and joy that music brings to our lives and people all around the world."
