"Britain's Got Talent" viewers asked for Simon Cowell's status and whereabouts after he missed the filming of the show.
Cowell finally reappeared on the set of the ITV competition show following his absence due to health issues. While he did not disclose his condition at that time, reports later revealed what kept him from appearing on the show.
What Happened to Simon Cowell?
Cowell officially returned to his seat and met the other judges - Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli - again. However, viewers quickly noticed that he started wearing special sunglasses while in the studio.
It turned out the gear has been helping him protect himself against migraines that are usually caused by the harsh lighting in "BGT."
A source shared more details about the mystery illness in an exclusive interview with People while confirming Cowell's return.
"He occasionally gets migraines from being under the bright filming lights for long stretches," the source disclosed. "His tinted glasses help a lot however, unfortunately he's been prone to migraines and the filming lights are particularly bright."
The insider then dismissed the claims about Cowell leaving the show, saying they were "complete nonsense" and "maliciously exaggerated."
Far from what the rumors suggested, Cowell reportedly felt better than ever. He reportedly started biking and walking every day while also doing Pilates to strengthen his back.
"All his friends are telling him to bring out a range of his own light-filtering glasses now to help others," the source continued.

Cowell previously addressed the "mystery illness" on Instagram by comparing his sunglasses to fly's eyes.
"I just found out, according to the internet, I have a 'mystery illness.' For anyone concerned, I missed two auditions at the end of one day, two weeks ago, because I do get migraines after long days in the filming lights," he went on.
Before his new sunglasses debut, Cowell had been noticeably wearing glasses. He told the reporters how it helped him cut the blue lights while using gadgets, as well.
Meanwhile, his followers praised his new look and reminded him not to overwork himself again.
One said, "Simon , migraines can be severe dark glasses really help take care and Simon ,you look great in them.x"
"Glad you're well. Can't really believe anything on the internet," another wrote.
