T-Pain is a prominent figure in the hip-hop industry; no one would think that he has had a hand in penning some of the biggest country music releases, and he wants to keep it that way.

"Good music is good music. I don't give a f**k where it come from or what style it come in," the rapper slash producer slash songwriter said in a recent TikTok video.

"All the people I know feel like it's not cool to listen to other genres of music. Country music is where I get all my harmonies."

This is not the first time T-Pain has expressed his love for country music, as last year he released his cover of "Tennessee Whiskey" by David Allan Coe, which was included in his "On The Top of the Covers" album.

However, the "Booty Wurk" rapper's love for music deterred him from adding his name as a songwriter on several songs due to racism.

"I done wrote a lot of country songs [but] I stopped taking credit for it because as cool as it is to see your name in those credits and s**t like that, the racism that comes after it is just like, 'I'll just take the check. Don't put me on that s**t. I'll just take the check, bro. Nevermind, dude.'"

T-Pain Defends Decision to Use Pseudonym

The rapper did not say whether he uses a pseudonym for his songs, or whether he uses his real name, Faheem Rashad Najm, but he did note that the hate was not enough to keep his name on the tracks.

T-Pain's revelation of writing country music, and not taking credit was met with shock and surprise among his fans.

"I WANNA HEAR COUNTRY TPAIN. I don't care how many people say it's not cool. Creative music is a gift," one wrote.

"That's wild lol. I wonder how many songs have been ghostwritten by T-Pain...."

"The world NEEDS Cowboy Tpain!!! First single, 'let me buy u a saddle.'"

T-Pain Collaborates With Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, More

Elsewhere in the video, T-Pain revealed that he has worked with some of country music's biggest stars like Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, and more.

"I write a lot of country music for huge country artists that would rather not have it known that I write for them," the rapper said. "I got back up with Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, Rhett Akins [and] Dallas Davidson. So, you know, I've written a lot for a lot [for] very important country artists."

T-Pain once collaborated with Swift for a parody of her hit song "Love Story," titled "Thug Story." The duo performed it at the 2009 CMT Awards.
