Jaafar Jackson, the nephew of the late Michael Jackson, is hitting all the right spots in portraying his uncle in his upcoming biopic.

Michael's life will be retold with his nephew portraying his image from the height of his career until its decline.

Jaafar Jackson Looks Like Michael Jackson In New Photo

Antoine Fuqua, the director of "Michael," shared a new photo from the film set, with Jaafar looking very much like his uncle at the height of his career.

"Photograph by the renowned photographer Kevin Mazur, who documented Michael's final rehearsal, and is now the first to photograph Jaafar in character as Michael," he captioned the photo.

Fans were thrilled to see Jaafar embodying his uncle Michael with some pointing out the eerie impression the photo had given them at first glance.

According to Variety, the film is expected to depict the "complicated" legacy of the King of Pop. Similar to "Elvis" and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," "Michael," will touch on some of the most iconic performances of Jackson, which eventually sealed him to become the greatest entertainer of all time.

However, the publication noted that the Michael Jackson biopic would be created with the help of the Michael Jackson estate - which would presumably directly influence how the depiction of the child sexual abuse allegations would be carried out or played out in the film.

Fuqua doesn't actually have to look away from home as there has already been someone who can brilliantly portray the King of Pop.

"I'm humbled and honored to bring my Uncle Michael's story to life. To all the fans all over the world, I'll see you soon," Jaafar said in a post sharing the announcement of his casting.

'Michael' Jackson Biopic Details

Apart from Michael Jackson, "Michael" has also cast Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson while Muni Long as the matriarch Katherine Jackson.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Katherine revealed that Jaafar embodies the late Michael Jackson.

"Jaafar embodies my son. It's so wonderful to see him carry on the Jackson legacy of entertainers and performers," Katherine told the publication.

Domingo, in a statement to Variety, is thrilled to be part of the upcoming biopic film.

"I'm excited to be a part of a film that explores both the complicated soul of the legendary Michael Jackson as well as his impact on music and culture as a global icon. Not only am I fortunate to have a rich, complex and flawed character to portray in Joe Jackson, but I also have a front row seat for Jaafar's incredible transformation," he confessed.
