The super-powered creatures of the internet and social media will be given the spotlight on Eminem's upcoming documentary, "Stans."
It's a full circle moment for Eminem, who will be co-producing the documentary film because he practically coined the term "Stan" in his 2000 hit of the same name became the umbrella term for a dedicated fan of an artist.
Eminem Co-Producing 'Stan' Documentary
Variety reported that Eminem will be co-producing the upcoming MTV/Paramount documentary about the stan culture through the eyes of the iconic rapper.
"Stan" will be produced by Eminem's Shady Films, DIGA Studios, and Hill District Media.
The Steven Leckart-led documentary is a "revealing, edgy and disarmingly personal journey into the world of superfandom, told through the lens of one of the world's most iconic and enduring artists, Eminem, and the fans that worship him."
"Stans will be the opportunity for us to turn the camera around and ask the audience about being fans - and in some cases, fanatics. This is a study of the relationship between fanbase and artist through the lens of one of Eminem's most fascinating songs and one of the world's most important entertainers," Eminem's manager, Paul Rosenberg said in a statement, as quoted by Billboard.
However, as of this writing "Stans" is still the working title for the said documentary.
DIGA Chief Operating Office Tony DiSanto revealed that the documentary will "explore the complex relationship between fame and super fandom, told through the lens of one of the world's most Iconic artists, Eminem, his music, and, especially, his most extreme fans."
"Paul Rosenberg and I have known each other since my days on MTV's TRL, a show that was driven by the power of fandom, bringing artists and their fans together. So when he told me about the idea for this film, it felt like we had come full circle," he added.

Eminem 'Stan' Song
Despite only peaking at No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts, Eminem's "Stan" is listed at 296th of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, upping their ranking to 223rd in a 2021 updated list.
It was also listed as oneof the greatest hip-hop songs of all time and named in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.
After coining the word in 2000, the Oxford Dictionary added it in 2017.
