A 35-year-old woman from Brazil found herself in court for reportedly sending an excessive number of cards to Harry Styles in a short period.

Myra Carvalho, facing accusations of stalking the 30-year-old former member of One Direction, allegedly inundated Styles with numerous cards during her stay in the UK. The alleged incidents occurred in Harrow Crown Court.

Harry Styles' Fan Turns into Alleged Stalker

Per court records seen by The Sun indicate that during her time in west London, specifically at a backpacker hostel in Earls Court, she resided there since December.

Allegedly, out of the 8,000 cards sent, a portion were wedding cards. Additionally, two letters were personally delivered to the "As It Was" singer's home, as revealed in court proceedings.

It was also mentioned that Carvalho, who has a partner residing in Brazil, had developed "sexual urges" towards Harry.

Representing her, attorney Clementine Simon brought to light that Carvalho's doctor in Brazil had raised concerns about a potential "manic episode" raising questions about her capacity to enter a plea.

During the recent plea and trial preparation hearing, it came to light that the young woman had journeyed to a foreign country without her parents' knowledge. Witnessing their daughter on a video link from HMP Bronzefield during the hearing, Carvalho's parents were visibly upset, shedding tears as she stood in a black coat and gloves.

Throughout the brief session, she remained silent except to confirm her identity, withholding any plea.

A decision regarding the dismissal of charges related to stalking causing serious alarm or distress will be made during an upcoming hearing scheduled for April 2024.

Meanwhile, a tentative trial date has been established for the summer. To ascertain her fitness to enter a plea, she is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation at this time.

As reported by the outlet, in court, the prosecutor Alejandra Llorente Tascon stated, "She sent a total of 8,000 cards in one month. Some [were] hand-delivered and others were delivered via a third-party company online."

"This defendant has traveled all the way from Brazil, and has frequently and to an extremely intense nature [harassed Styles] by sending over 8,000 cards and describing sexual urges towards him. She has a partner [in Brazil]... It also causes great concern to the complainant. She hand-delivered letters and wedding cards."

Judge Karim Ezzat scheduled Carvalho's case for proceedings at the upcoming court session on April 19, 2024. Following the decision, the suspect was ordered to remain in custody.
