Liam Gallagher is not happy that he hasn't been nominated as a solo artist at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Gallagher is nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but he is nominated alongside his Oasis bandmates.

Liam Gallagher Bitter On Other Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Liam Gallagher wasn't thrilled that some artists were nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

"As much as I love Mariah Carey and all that, I want to say: do me a favor and f- off," Gallagher sternly told the publication. "It's like putting me in the rap hall of fame, and I don't want to be part of anything that mentally disturbed. Besides, I've done more for rock n' roll than half of them clowns on that board. So it's all a load of bollocks."

Gallagher is known not to mince his words whenever he feels strongly about something. He spoke against the Rock Hall earlier this month.

"Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS LG x," he tweeted on Twitter/X. "Don't waste your time Rkid as much as it's appreciated it's all a load of bollox."

Other Genres On Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

In the past, artists have denounced the inclusion of crossover artists on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Dolly Parton, a country icon, even tried to opt out of the nomination because she felt she wasn't deserving. She later on accepted it and was even inducted.

Conversation on artists being eligible for the Rock Hall also sparked when hip-hop icons Eminem and Jay-Z were nominated and even inducted into the Hall of Fame. Last year, Missy Elliott was inducted.

Mary J. Blige is nominated alongside Oasis this year.

Rock Hall explained why they nominated artists like them on the ballot. John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, told Billboard that, like how any artist evolves in their career, the Hall of Fame should do so too.

"Rock and roll was the music for so many years that moved youth culture. It still is part of it, but now you have hip-hop and rap that really is part of that.", he continued.

Sykes reiterated that the foundation has an "ongoing commitment to honor the artists who really created the sound of youth culture."

This commitment means that genres like Hip-Hop, R&B, and rap are now broadly considered because "the Rock Hall has to evolve with the music that is impacting youth culture" in which the Hall was built in the first place.

Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Eric B. & Rakim, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Jane's Addiction, Kool & the Gang, Lenny Kravitz, Oasis, Sinead O'Connor, Ozzy Osbourne, Sade and A Tribe Called Quest are nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2024.
