Check out Music Times' interview with the rising bedroom-pop singer below:

Q: You set Twitter/X on fire these past few days. How did you react when people started sharing your music?

A: When people started sharing my music, it was kinda surprising, but in a good way. I felt happy that they liked it and wanted to support me. It was really perplexing (pun intended), but it's been so nice that people want to support me. A lot of the memes and tweets that I see make me laugh or smile, and it's been helpful getting a lot of different feedback.

Q: Based on your recent tweet, your mom has yet to find out about your fame; if you already told her about what happened, how did she react? If not, how would she react to all of this?

A: "I'm not too sure, I still haven't told my mom about this past weekend! If I did, I guess she'd be worried about me, you know, like any mom would be. Safety first, right?"

Q: How old were you when you started exploring your musical side, and when did you start releasing music on streaming platforms?

A: "I started messing around with music when I was a kid, always writing and singing. But I got serious about it when I was 19. That's when I wrote 'Rejected,' my first track, and started putting my stuff on streaming platforms."

Q: Your first album 'Perplex' has been out since July 2023, and people are now finding out about it; what or who was your main inspiration for the album?

A: "The inspiration for my first album 'Perplex' mainly came from the struggles of being 19. It was a tough phase with mean people, rejections, and a lot of peer pressure. When you're 19 you feel like you should be an adult but you're really still finding out who you are, what you like, who your friends are. The album captures those real-life experiences."

Q: Did you create all the instrumentals, or did you work with a producer?

A: "I cannot take credit for the instrumentals, that was all Sebastian Akselberg for 'Rejected' and 5 songs on 'Perplex.'"

Q: What are your three favorite tracks from the album?

A: "My top three favorite tracks from the album would be "The Devil Is In Your Heart" for its spiritual vibe, "Consequence of a Pharisee" because the lyrics are amazing, and "MWC" because she's an icon."

Q: Can you name three musicians who have inspired you and explain why you think they have impacted you?

A: "The top three artists who inspire me are Taylor Swift for her fantastic songwriting, LanaDel Rey because her lyrics hit my soul, and for that rocker side, I'd say Linkin Park and Evanescence. They kept me going through rough times."

Q: The queen Rebecca Black has recently reacted to your music. Do you think a potential collaboration could happen in the future? Did she reach out to you privately?

A: "I am always open to different collaborations! But did she reach out to me? Who knows - it's a "secret" for now."

Q: Your supporters have claimed "Ragdolls" as their fandom name. Are you okay with it, or do you have any suggestions?

A: "I'm excited to have fans who have adapted the name "Ragdolls." Personally, I've thought "lovely arts" would be a fun name but "Ragdolls" has been really growing on me and makes me smile."

Q: If given a chance, who do you want to collaborate with in the future?

A: "I've talked about wanting to collaborate with Lana Del Rey before (that's true). Another dream collaboration for me would be with Mike Shinoda. It would be amazing to have him produce a song for me and maybe even sing together."

Q: Lastly, what's next for Julie Ragdoll? Should we expect new songs? A new album? Or even see you perform live?

A: "Expect new songs! I've always had a passion for creating music, and having people who are interested in hearing more from has been motivating. If you're ever in New Jersey maybe you will see me singing somewhere - you just never know!"
