Jhene Aiko recently released her debut album Souled Out and now she's giving fans a behind the scenes look at the process for creating the album.

In the 15-minute video detailing the album's process, Aiko can be seen in the studio, on the road and performing at various shows. It even features a cameo from her daughter.

"I think I just maybe want people to connect with the songs on this album and connect with me and just find themselves in these songs," she says at one point in the clip.

Aiko also opens up about her family, namely her brother who passed away from a brain tumor and her daughter. She holds herself responsible for making her daughter proud of the music she puts out and carrying out her brother's dreams as well as her own.

The "To Love & Die" songstress makes a reveal about performing in the mini doc. Aiko admits that performing in front of large crowds was not something she prepared for.

"I never considered myself like an entertainer," she explained. "So I never wanted to like, be in front of crowds and once I realized that they were connecting to me and my words, with my stories, then it was more about me like wanting to, you know, just share it with them in person."
