The Black Eyed Peas are considered some of the most iconic bands in the music industry, especially in the early to late 2000s, and one of its members, will.i.am took the world by storm when he ventured into his solo career and collaborated with other artists. However, many are confused about why he rarely releases any music.
Music has been an integral part of the singer's career, as he told ABC News in a 2008 interview: "if there's not music around, then you just listen to life. The car passing by is doing a collaboration with a bird in the tree, and the jackhammer is the rhythm man and all that stuff. You just listen to that, and it's a symphony if you let it be that." During his career outside The Black Eyed Peas, he was able to team up with prominent artists like Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, Rihanna, John Legend, and many more.
What Happened to will.i.am
Since he is a big part of the music community, many fans started looking for him when they noticed he stopped creating/releasing new projects.
The singer/record producer has a valid reason, as the main reason he decided to pause his career was to finish his studies by attending Harvard University to further his knowledge in business.
Will.i.am spoke in an interview with Jennifer Hudson on February 2024 to reveal that he just realized one day that he wanted to study at Harvard.

"I'm doing all of this business stuff, and I want to make sure that I'm not just taking advantage of success and not disciplining myself to have further success," he said.
He later explained that attending college made him experience college, like staying in dorms and interacting with his fellow students.
The musician wasn't able to attend his high school graduation in the past because of his music career. That's why going to school feels so special to him as he will get another chance to graduate.
Will.i.am's University Experience Was Humbling
In an interview with Forbes, will.i.am described that going back to school humbled him because he had a massive career in the music industry.
The musician recalled that he had professors who taught him many things regarding business, and he also learned a lot from his classmates as they had lines of companies. Still none of them were successful at first as they also stumbled upon hurdles in life.
