NSYNC was one of the most popular boy bands in the late 90s and early 2000s. Its massive fame took a toll on its members, who couldn't function normally in society because people recognized them wherever they went.

More recently, one of its members, Lance Bass, shared one thing that he used to do to disguise himself whenever he traveled alone, and it may not have worked in his favor.

The musician recently spoke with Travel + Leisure, where he revealed that there were times during the group's peak when he would travel all by himself, and to avoid being noticed by fans, he would dye his hair "blue-black."

However, in a hilarious turn of events, instead of being low-key in the outside world, his look stood out because it was too unique.

"It made me stand out more because I looked like this goth guy that was very pale because we didn't see the sun back in those days," he said. (via People Magazine)

One of the main reasons he decided to travel alone was to have some alone time, so he went to Cancun by himself. At the time, he said it was nice to let his brain relax and have no responsibility, even just for a few days.

Lance Bass Updates: Singer is Now Traveling With Family

Decades after NSYNC rose to fame, the musician has an entirely different responsibility. He's now focused on his family life with his husband, Michael Turchin, and their twins, Alexander James and Violet Betty.

Initially, Bass noted that he and his husband had a hard time traveling with their two children because they didn't know when they were going to have a "meltdown" as they couldn't communicate well due to their young age.

However, things changed now that they're two and a half years old, and the singer said the twins are already having "full conversations."

"Traveling is just a breeze these days compared to what it was a year ago," he added.

NSYNC Updates

The recent interview comes after Justin Timberlake released his new album Everything I Thought It Was.

The singer took fans to memory lane as he reunited with his NSYNC bandmates to collaborate on the song "Paradise."

The group also got together on stage at Timberlake's one-night-only show in Los Angeles, CA, which marked their first performance in years.
