Rob Zombie is calling his shot with his upcoming sixth solo record, saying that it will be one of his best albums to date.

"I really think this is the best record yet, truthfully," Zombie told the San Jose Mercury News  "I don't know if everybody says that -- maybe they do. But I really feel that way. I'm not sure when we'll put it out -- probably beginning of next year, maybe -- but it's pretty much done." No release date has been set for the untitled album, which will be the follow-up to 2013's Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor

In July, Zombie told Rolling Stone that he was about halfway done with the album.

Zombie went on to talk about his next tour, which kicks off tonight (Sept. 14) in California. "This will be our last tour for a while, actually," he said. "Because when this tour is done, I'm starting on a movie. It will be an awesome tour. The tours we have done in the last few years have been our best tours ever."

The movie Zombie refers to, titled 31, will be his sixth film as director. The musician recently launched a crowdfunding effort for the movie, which, according to the artist, will start shooting in February if all goes as planned. "The basic idea is that, in the five days leading up to Halloween, five random people are kidnapped and are taken to a secluded location and forced to fight for their lives through the night of Halloween," the horror director said of the film's plot. "And whoever survives by Nov. 1 is let free."

Zombie's previous titles as director include 2003's House Of 1,000 Corpses, 2005's The Devil's Rejects, 2007's Halloween and the 2009 sequel. His last film effort was 2013's The Lords Of Salem.
