Sheryl Crow has she struck up a friendship with Olivia Rodrigo and she's talking about their connection and how the pop star acted when they first met.

Crow, who just released her new album Evolution, sat down with Seth Meyers on his late-night talk show for an interview. In it, she gave fans insight into her friendship with the "Get Him Back" hitmaker.

Crow recalled that they first met at Billboard Women in Music event, and she immediately liked her the moment they interacted.

"I'd already had her record and I loved the way she wrote. It's very punk, it's like the Breeders meets Deborah Harry," she said.

According to Billboard, both musicians were present at the Billboard Women in Music ceremony in 2022, and the iconic singer was the one who presented Rodrigo with the Woman of the Year award.

Later in the interview, Crow gushed that Rodrigo is a good person and said she's impressed with her attitude. "I'm so impressed with how down to earth and together she is, like unfazed by it," she said.

Since then, Crow said she has gotten to know Rodrigo better, adding, "I adore her."

The pair struck a friendship from their first meeting, and Rodrigo was later invited to join her on stage to perform at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, where Crow was inducted into the 2023 class.

In addition, Crow also attended a concert by the young pop star's concert who is currently on an ongoing world tour behind her album Guts.

Sheryl Crow's New Album

In 2020, Sheryl Crow declared that Threads would be her last album. She initially wanted to stop putting out records because releasing albums became a "dying art form" due to technology, as people would only "cherry-pick" songs to add to their playlists instead of listening to albums in full.

However, she changed her mind as she just released Evolution, even though she previously said that making albums was "a waste of time and money."

She defended her decision by explaining that her new album isn't a conventional record but rather just a "compilation of new songs."

Evolution is now available to stream on major music platforms online.
