One Widespread Panic fan took his enthusiasm to the next level when he rushed the stage at a recent gig as the band performed.

During a set at the Phases Of The Moon in Danville, Ill., an attendee who looks to have no real agenda at first gets on stage at the end of the song "Bust It Big," according to The Barn Presents. Security tries to contain the man, but he ends up escaping toward the drum kit and beatkeeper Todd Nance appears to take a hit in the face in the fan footage below. Nance leaves the stage briefly, during which time the crazed fan is seen being dragged off the stage by a few people. The rest of the band just riffs a little before Nance returns and Widespread Panic launch into "Help Me Somebody," which the crowd seems to enjoy in light of the situation.

Last year, the jam band returned from a short hiatus and resumed touring. They will take the rest of September off and hit the road in October with stops in Charleston, S.C.; St. Augustine, Fla.; Montgomery, Ala.; and Alpharetta, Ga. (only a short distance from their hometown of Athens). The group will also return to Charlotte, N.C., for their New Year's Eve and New Year's Day Tunes for Tots shows, which benefit children's charities worldwide.

The band's last album, 2012's Wood, highlighted their first ever, all acoustic tour. It included cuts from 11 different cities that had the band playing classic tunes and covers by Jimmy Cliff and John Lennon.
