Along with Artificial Intelligence's threats to the music industry on streaming platforms and artists, Spotify has found a way to innovate and see the opportunity for the now-evolving tool to work for them.

The streaming giant has released a Beta version of the Spotify AI playlist generator where users can ask Artificial Intelligence to curate a personalized playlist for them using a prompt.

Spotify AI Playlists

According to Spotify, the specialized feature is only available on Android and iOS devices in Australia and the United Kingdom for the time being.

Users can create personalized AI playlists on Spotify by writing a unique prompt into the chat. As simple as looking for an "indie folk playlist to give my brain a big warm hug," can be written to generate a very specific playlist depending on the user's liking.

"You can use prompts that reference places, animals, activities, movie characters, colors, even emojis. The most successful playlists are generated with prompts that contain a combination of genres, moods, artists, or decades. It's a brand-new tool, and still in beta, so we'll continue to iterate and innovate on the experience. Stay tuned for what's to come!" Spotify said in a statement.

How to Create Spotify AI Playlist

Users can find the AI Playlist chat box on the "Your Library" button at the bottom-right corner of the screen.

From there, tap the "+" button in the top-right corner and select "AI Playlist."

Spotify already has a list of suggested prompts, but users can craft their own personalized prompts depending on the mood and the vibe.

Wait for a few minutes for Spotify to process and curate the playlist. Once done, users can manage the selection that the platform has generated.

Users can go as much as adding more and deleting depending on their liking. Users who aren't satisfied could ask the AI for "more pop" or even "less upbeat" to refine the results on the generated playlist.

Once done, users can tap "Create," and the new playlist will be saved automatically in the library.

"While it's designed to be fun, the tool is still in beta and won't produce results for non-music-related prompts, like current events or specific brands. We also have measures in place around prompts that are offensive-so please prompt responsibly!" the company said in a press release.

As of this writing, it is not known yet whether Spotify will release the feature in the United States or other regions.
