Taylor Swift is undoubtedly the biggest pop star on the planet, having sold millions of albums worldwide, constantly selling out stadium shows, and recognized worldwide. However, Courtney Love is not impressed.

The Hole singer recently sat down in an interview with the Evening Standard to promote her new eight-part BBC Radio series that celebrates women in the music industry. During the conversation, she reacted to Swift's fame and expressed her thoughts about the pop star: "Taylor is not important," Love said.

She explained that although the "Bad Blood" hitmaker could be considered a safe space for girls, Love said she's not "interesting."

"She might be a safe space for girls, and she's probably the Madonna of now, but she's not interesting as an artist," she added. (via Us Weekly magazine)

When the interview made the rounds online, many Swifties immediately defended the singer and shared their opinions about Love.

"Said courtney love, who hasn't been important since the 90s," one wrote.

Courtney Love Not a Fan of Other Female Musicians

Taylor Swift isn't the only female singer who Love is not a fan of. Sshe also shared her thoughts about Lana Del Rey.

She explained that she thought the "Born to Die" hitmaker was "great" until she performed her rendition of "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver, for which Love thinks Del Rey should "take seven years off" of music.

Later, Beyoncé was mentioned, and she had a different take on the singer entering the world of country music with her new album, Cowboy Carter.

"I like the idea of Beyoncé doing a country record because it's about Black women going into spaces where previously only white women have been allowed, not that I like it much. As a concept, I love it. I just don't like her music," she added.

Courtney Love Thinks Many Female Musicians Are Becoming Cliché

Love noted that she thinks it's great that many women are thriving and becoming successful in the music industry today, but she thinks many of them are becoming "cliché." She believes that every successful female singer is "cloned," and there is a lot of music that sounds almost exactly the same.

"If you play something on Spotify, you get bombarded with a lot of stuff that's exactly the same," she added.
