How is it that Dancing with the Stars just debuted its' 19th season last night? Has it really been around for that long? Perhaps it does seem like ABC has been spending Monday night's in the ballroom for as long as fans can remember.

Some little changes have been made to make this season run a bit better and the biggest thing is bringing back Julianne Hough. Unfortunately, she won't be guiding a falling star through steps and arm holds though, instead she is now a welcome addition to the judging panel.

As for last night's competition itself, well, it gave fans a glimpse at who has potential and what celebs are going to need a bit more help. Tommy Chong of Cheech and Chong fame really didn't disappoint. He may be one of the oldest members of this cast but the man gets it. This show is supposed to be a sparkle-filled, cheesefest and he totally delivered on all of that. Bethany Mota of YouTube fame has so many advantages already. She's only 18, is already comfortable in front of the camera and she has a secret weapon named Derek Hough as her partner.

Lea Thompson did a pretty good Foxtrot with Artem Chigvintsev but a lot of fans kind of raised their eyebrows when they realized that she trained under Mikhail Baryshnikov many moons ago. While ballroom is certainly not ballet having any serious previous dance training gives her a bit of an advantage.

Alfonso Ribeiro has always come across as a bundle of energy and it looks like Dancing with the Stars will be the perfect place for him to channel it. He's paired up with Witney Carson and already these two make a pretty hot team to watch. They also scored 36 points for their first dance putting them at the top of the leader board.

Yesterday, news broke that 10-year DWTS' veteran pro Cheryl Burke is contemplating leaving after season 19. Would you be sad to see her go? What are your thoughts on Dancing with the Stars season 19's competition so far?
