Taylor Swift actually makes fun of one of her boyfriend's teammates; at least that is how Swifties are understanding her "The Alchemy" lyrics.

Swifties everywhere analyzed the lyrics of the 34-year-old pop singer's latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," as soon as it was published on Friday.

In "The Alchemy," she makes some references to football. She had been dating Travis Kelce, the star player for the Kansas City Chiefs, and she attended 13 of his games the previous season, including the Chiefs' Super Bowl triumph.

In the song, she says, "Where's the trophy? He just came running to me." She appears to go on the attack later in the song, leading some to speculate that she is criticizing Kadarius Toney, a teammate of Kelce.

"When I touch down, call the amateurs and cut 'em from the team," Swift croons. "Ditch the clowns, get the crown."

Though last season was different, Toney did play a significant part in the team's 2023 Super Bowl triumph over the Philadelphia Eagles, recording the longest punt return in Super Bowl history and scoring a score.

After missing three key passes in the team's Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions, he was sidelined until Week 15. And he launched into a graphic tirade that the Chiefs lied and said he was injured when he wasn't.

In October 2022, the Chiefs sent the Giants their third- and sixth-round selections in exchange for Toney.

In 2021, the Giants selected him with the 20th overall pick; but, like to his tenure in New York, he has been plagued by injuries. Upon acquiring Toney by the Chiefs, Kelce expressed his confusion about "how he got out of that building."

"I just don't get it. I don't get it one bit. I don't understand. I don't even want to understand," Kelce said at the time. "I don't want to know what happened over there. I am just extremely happy that Brett Veach found a way, yet again, to get an unbelievable, talented player in this building."

This was already predicted by Swifties though.

It can be remembered that back on December 10, Toney lined up offside just before what would have been a game-winning play for the Chiefs against the Buffalo Bills, a play inspired by Kevin Kelce.

In the final seconds of the game, with the Chiefs down three points and Swift watching from the stands, Kelce hit a spectacular lateral ball to Toney, who raced over the line for a score.

However, as Arrowhead Stadium exploded, Toney was offside at the start of the play, so the refs painfully but properly ruled the score out. Following the game, people thought Swift would exact revenge on Toney.

On the day of the game, NFL reporter Andrew Siciliano said, "'Taylor Swift is going to subtly destroy Kadarius Toney on the next album."

There's now a running theory that Travis Kelce might have had a hand in the writing of this new song.

To be fair to Kelce though, right after the impasse by Toney, he did say he does not hold a grudge.

Kelce said at the time, "I love KT, if we get the opportunity again I'm gonna throw that s*** right into his chest again. I've got all the faith in the world in that dude. He's one of our best players."

"Watch what he does with the ball in his hands. All those people hating on KT right now, I'm not trying to hear it - you can f***ing miss me with it" he added.
