Nicki Minaj and Future have been roped in at a million-dollar concert fraud scandal in Dallas, Texas, after a man has been indicted over wire fraud.

The man, named Carlos Desean Godspeed, organized a multi-city tour and asked investors to fund the non-existent concert tour.

Nicki Minaj, Future Tied Into Million-Dollar Concert Fraud

According to AllHipHop, Godspeed was indicted on wire fraud in Dallas, Texas, after asking investors to invest in a concert tour with A-list artists like Future and Minaj.

Investors funneled millions into the project after Godspeed promised huge returns. He was represented by an illegitimate promotions company called Straight Like That Entertainment.

Goodspeed allegedly convinced investors to invest in exchange for "quick financial gains." However, he then diverted the money to his personal life - using it for his lavish lifestyle and premium purchases.

In addition to Minaj and Future, Tyler the Creator and Ludacris were also roped in, as Godspeed has also organized similar events with their names.

Concert Promoter Scam Explored

The publication reported that he was reported initially, but the charges went unchallenged, so he proceeded to use the artist's credibility to bag more funds from investors for "additional concerts."

At one point, he received $400,000 from an investor, promising to give them back $650,000 within four months, but it never materialized; all that money was used for her personal gains/

He also persuaded an investor to wire him $130,000, but the funds were misappropriated. In total, Godspeed amassed millions on his fraudulent activity.

The police started probing Godspeed after deceived investors and launched multiple complaints against him. He was eventually arrested at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

Godspeed was taken into custody as he reflected on his crimes. According to the Northern District of Texas' Attorney's Office, if proven guilty, Godspeed will face 60 years in prison, as he's facing three counts with 20 years per count.

Nicki Minaj, Future in Pink Friday 2

Minaj and Future are not going on tour together as the former is currently on the road for her Pink Friday 2 World Tour.

The two collaborated on "Nicki Hendrix" for Minaj's Pink Friday 2 album. On the other hand, Future linked up with Metro Boomin on the release of We Don't Trust You, and We Still Don't Trust You.
