Irish folk star Hozier (pronounced "Ho-zeer") has a bunch of new music to play. His self-titled debut album is due Sept. 19, and he's dropped two EPs in the past year.
But when he stopped by BBC Radio 1 to do a live performance, he opted to play a cover. The selection? Arctic Monkeys' "Do I Wanna Know?"
Hozier changed the stomping tune from a riff-heavy rocker to a folky slow jam with some help from a vast assortment of backing musicians and singers. Sucked of all its poison, this version of "Do I Wanna Know?" is an interesting song that highlights writer Alex Turner's well-crafted lyrics.
